The Angolan fuel market continues to be heavily dependent on imports, having reached around 70.15% in the third quarter of this year, an increase of 6.17% compared to the previous period.
According to the Fuel Report of the Petroleum Derivatives Regulatory Institute, released this Tuesday, during the period under analysis there was a reduction in imports of 1.17%.
The document, consulted by JA Online, reveals that at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2024, the country had an operational onshore storage capacity of 675,968 cubic meters and the existence of 1,172 filling stations, of which 896 were operational, remaining constant in relation to the 2nd quarter of 2024.
National Production
In relation to national production, the Luanda Refinery produced 317,550 metric tons in the period under analysis, representing a decrease of 21.53% compared to the previous quarter and a decrease of 25.67% in the same period of the previous year.
“During the 3rd quarter of 2024, the production of diesel and Ordoil Normal fuel had a greater representation in the operational performance of the Refinery, corresponding to 40.78% and 21.78% respectively, with the two products totaling around 62.56%, that is, more than half of the total production, according to the graph”, highlights the note.
