The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the United Kingdom Export Credit Agency, UK Export Finance, Tim Reid, is in Angola, to reinforce economic cooperation and explore new opportunities for collaboration.
“The visit underlines UKEF’s commitment to supporting Angola’s development objectives and promoting mutual prosperity,” he said.
According to a note sent to the editorial staff of Jornal de Angola, Tim Reid and the UKEF delegation have been in the country since yesterday, to understand how their future support can have a more significant impact. During the visit, the PCA will meet with the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Angola.
The UKEF PCA will also visit the Mother and Child Hospital, where UKEF support is providing advanced medical care for mothers and newborns, with an emphasis on positive impact for the local community.
The visit to the country, which runs until the 13th of this month, also includes a trip to Benguela, where Tim Reid will visit the coastal area of Lobito and will meet with the British companies, Innovo and the Angolan company, Carrinho.
According to the note, UKEF's efforts in Benguela focus on flood risk management, improving flood safety on the coastline, promoting community resilience.
